The show begins with a recording of an Israel Defense Forces soldier who says he does not care about the children or civilians in Gaza and wants the whole place leveled to build a mall. Ammon Hillman then gives the Greek word he says has covered this behavior from the beginning: lestes (λῃστής), a robber or trafficker, and its people, lestai, as the ones who take what belongs to others without consequence. He points to the biblical stories of a chosen people taking the promised land by killing, and he draws a line from the chosen to the one who is not counted at all.
From there the hour moves into the sources it says the universities have not translated. The Chimera is read not as a monster but as a woman ruler with two brothers she called the Lion and the Dragon, killed by Bellerophon. Medusa is read as a hetaira (ἑταίρα), a companion of men, so beautiful that looking at her stopped people, and Perseus as the one who took her youthful bloom, a trafficker and rapist. The dragon of the Hesperides is read the same way, as a man. The point the show returns to is that these are histories, not myths, and that the people who resisted them were fighting traffickers.
The last part names Medea as the first Christ and the first Baptist. Reading a source on her, the show says she discovered the usefulness of vapor baths and fumigation, the purion (πύριον); the people she fumigated were made healthier, lighter, and more energetic. It calls this the source of the Bacchic satanic chorus and the toxic prophetic music, and it contrasts her kind of religion, open and healing, with the chosen-people doctrine that ends in slaughter. The closing line, read from the Greek, is that the person being addressed is not chosen but a dragon, the firstborn of Satan.

but outside of that i would wake up you know 5 a.m and then wouldn’t go to sleep till like midnight
or one you know until i’m finished and so throughout the day making the space whether
it’s like oh i only have like 10 increments of 10 minutes i can still get the work done and get it
ingrained into my brain somehow and so creating the space and then prioritizing
it really helped it stick creating the space and prioritizing it okay so for
anybody who’s listening who wants to do this realize that’s what you’ve got to
do there’s a lot of time that you’re gonna dump into it if you’re gonna make
it through it and did you ever feel like you were like hitting a wall were there
any times in the four weeks that you’re like oh god am i doing the right thing no i knew i was
doing the right thing i didn’t second guess that but i if i was getting bored or distracted i would
have to change up i’d have to get creative um and it’s easy there are so many different types of
methods or things that you can add to learn in an exciting way and it’s easy for you to get to
the point that okay i’m gonna have to memorize another vocabulary list oh god i’m gonna have
to memorize another type of verb right it can be so stressful that you just want to walk away this
is the one thing that that madalena did didn’t do that i’ve seen just about every student i’ve ever
have i’ve ever had do and that is um hit this wall and just say oh it’s too much and then they come
back to it mentally right and oh okay then it’s they grab it and take it out and then it becomes
really so you didn’t do that you piled through the whole time and people it’s not how easy is

what are the things I don’t get and and then repeating that until it I understand or and
or having it explained to myself in a way that I can I can um receive the information

different greek from so many different periods and look in the intensive course we just focused
