This episode answers the takedown threat with one piece of philology and one piece of history. It shows a video of Rabbi Tovia Singer accusing Paul of changing Isaiah 59:20, and it refutes the claim on the page: Paul is quoting the Septuagint, the Greek translation of the Seventy (ἡ Ἑβδομηκοντά), word for word, roughly a thousand years before the Hebrew version was revised to say something different.
Ammon Hillman then counts the silence. Paul quotes zero Hebrew, Jesus quotes zero, and Philo the Jew quotes zero, while the surviving inscription claimed for the lost Temple is written in Greek, not Hebrew. From there the stream steps back to the world it keeps trying to restore: Plutarch’s account of the Milesian virgins, young women who left their families and entered shared states of mania and vision, and the Dionysian theater engineered so that a sound from the stage reaches every seat. The electric guitar, he says, descends from those strings.
The close names the older word for the better world: a polis (πόλις), a city where neighbors disagree in color, belief, and art and still live side by side, set against the society that kills children and calls it covenant. He ties the fight for speech to the oracular practice itself, where vision came through music, text, and being taken over by the power, and ends on the only question he says is left, whether a person will be genocidal or not.
