This morning of Ammon U begins with one simple rule from Ammon Hillman: every Renaissance in history starts the same way, with the rediscovery of Greek, not Latin. Latin is called the lesser language and the students are asked to name the dead Greek they read over the weekend. The names come fast in the chat: Galen, Sappho, Xenophon, Aristotle, and Aeschylus, whose tragedy Agamemnon is described as a religious ritual turned into a state holiday of purgation, a way of cleaning a city instead of sending troops against it.
The word for the day is magos (μάγος). The lexicographer derives it from the verbs used for softening, preparing, and rolling, the same kind of work that makes incense cakes and drugs, and the dictionary then names the tool: magikon emplastron (ἔμπλαστρον), a drug worked into a plaster that can be spread over a surface and then Christed. The definition comes out bluntly, that the Magus is the one who prophesies the future through magical drugs. The episode ties this to the magi of the gospels and to the old title carried by the people around Jesus.
The rest of the hour pulls other street-level Greek into view. The lyre, lyra (λύρα), is traced to the verb lyō (λύω), to loose or set free, so the guitar is called the instrument of freedom: good music makes people free, and bad music makes slaves. The trafficking vocabulary follows, where lēstai (λῃσταί) are raiders who take human booty, and a woman claimed in that way is not a wife. That leads to Medea, shown through Euripides as the girl the Argo sailed out to abduct, and to her own quoted line, that she would rather stand three times in battle than give birth once.

Blast off, Chewie. Let’s do this.
I love it. I still owe you guys some zombies, right?
We found some in the backs of John, so we have to bring them to you.
But not today. Not today. No. No, I’m bringing you Greek this morning.
Hello, satanic congregation. You’ve come here to learn Greek, and I appreciate that,
and I know that it’s going to make you the sharpest edge possible, right?
This is training, people. This is training for the Renaissance, right? How does the Renaissance start? It always starts, whether it’s a Renaissance or an Enlightenment or some kind of philosophical apex of humanity, it always starts with a rediscovery, right?
a rebirth if you will a renaissance of greek of greek people it’s not latin nobody gives a shit
you just put this through your head right now people latin is inferior do you understand me
you have come to the equivalent of the marines do you understand you didn’t just join the you
didn’t just join the you know anybody what this language will do for you is is inestimable
do you understand me oh god i can’t even tell you i can’t even come up with a an example of what it
will do for you now um chewy we will be sending anybody who is not cooperative with the course
somebody who’s interfering you will send them with your bow right to the nethers of tartarus
do you understand me now people i’m really happy because for once i can run a class exactly as i
want to, exactly as I want to. I can indulge all my cruelty, exactly. Do you understand? Not on you
people who are here to benefit, right? Not on you, but upon those who would bring their greed with
them, right? They can’t stand. Give us salvation. Oh, Armand, give us salvation. We want to keep
salvation. Ah, your greed. Your greed stains your souls with the stench of ruin. I told you to come
today having read somebody from antiquity. So I’d like to start. Should we plash up anybody up there?
Put your name or your author. Put the name of the dead person that you read, please.
Put that up there. Put that up there. Let’s see. Let’s see what we get. Oh, is it a good evening,
that where you are? Fantastic. If it’s a good evening, grab yourself an aperitif and, you know,
sit here. Don’t look at your Greek book today. By the way, thank you for coming to Intensive
Greek. Put down your Greek book, okay? Don’t look at it. Don’t look at it. There’s one. Carlos is
going to… Oh, Carlos, you’re trying. You’re trying too hard, Carlos. If you’re trying to
impressed me? You just did. Galen. Galen. My God, man. Right? Starting right at the top. Okay,
Carlos. Sappho. Fantastic. Fantastic. Urimi. I saw Urimi on there with some Sappho, right?
Xenophon. It means Xenophon, right? Right? Now, people, look. What are we doing? We’re just
looking at names. We’re just looking at names. Next. I want Greek names up there. Fantastic.
Pythagoras. How did you read Pythagoras? He didn’t write anything, Mystic Bookshop. But what you did
was you got other people who wrote about him and quoted him, and you read those, right? Isn’t that
fantastic? Now look what we’re doing. We’re learning people. Some of these authors that we
have in antiquity, they didn’t leave anything for you, just like Jesus, the only thing written Jesus
left was a bill of sale for Thomas, which one did he sell, yeah, to the Indian eunuch master,
right, fantastic, oh, who is that, Anabasis, fantastic, nice job, nice job, okay, throw that
in there, right, air, oh, here’s somebody, who’s this, midnight, midnight, you’re trying to impress
me you’re trying to impress me i’m gonna i’m gonna have a circle of those who impress because
i’m getting impressed aristotle right the day anima oh my god oh my god zachary read the
agamemnon zachary did you get depressed when you were done with that did you get depressed zachary
read a tragedy people by a dude named eschalus who’s kind of the spears tip for tragedy right
there are plenty of tragedians, right? And there’s earlier, but you don’t, you know,
from people that we know of who kind of forge the path for tragedy to be born, but it really is born
with, with Escalus people. It really is born. You know, it’s a ritual. It’s a religious ritual
that we’re turning into a state supported holiday of purgation where you’re cleaning your people,
right not a war you’re not committing a war on your people you’re not sending in troops right
you’re not acting the tyrant you are in people you’ve got to realize this is greek tyrant is a
greek word you realize that right oh my god they didn’t realize they didn’t realize right why
because people you need to constantly be in remembrance of one fact i want you to tattoo
this fact on your undercarriage whatever you understand what i’m saying what is the fact that
i want you to know oh god i just forgot it never mind here we go chewy throw me up some greek
please throw me up some greek people it’s the very first one chewy people i want you just to
look at this okay here is the subject that you will be studying now and people there’s a there’s
a group of you who will study this language for the rest of your lives all right so i want you to
approach this language now and just appreciate just appreciate people look at this
what are we doing here we’re creating definitions people if i could tell you blow me up for a minute
if i could tell you um next time i go into public and i’m in a situation where i’m engaging
someone like i was last time on danny right hang on leave that up as thomas taylor yeah yeah yes
um well i i don’t know i don’t know what the modern crowd right but um with 20th century
classes it’s definitely right right um i admire anybody who translates i admire anybody who
translates greek because it’s craft i respect them i respect them for their skill people one
of the sources that you’re going to realize that I read all the time that nobody else reads,
in addition to the medical stuff, is the lexicographical yumminess. There are lots
of lexicographers from the ancient world, all the way up to Byzantine. Some gorgeous Byzantine
lexicography going on. It’s all the grammarians. Now, people don’t like to read grammarians. You
can’t even specialize at least last time i was at a university you couldn’t specialize in grammarians
as a field within classics right nobody teaches that there’s no instructor who’s just there to do
you know there’s somebody to do tragedy there’s somebody to do comedy there’s somebody to do
epic lyric history right but there’s nobody there to do medicine there’s nobody ever there to do
medicine and there’s nobody there to do grammar and there’s a lot of grammar written there’s a
lot of grammar and you think how could i possibly you know the most the least interesting subject to
me in school grammar yeah no i hated it i hated going to those stupid english classes i hated
them i hated trying to memorize and diagram i hated that stuff it was torture now on my own
with mother greek it became sexy and i learned grammar in a different way people you will too
give me that definition show me flash me up that definition here yeah the text right here we go
people what is a magos look at that first word i’m it’s capitalized right on the front that’s
capital mu mu alpha gamma omicron sigma mu alpha gamma omicron sigma and look at the sigma on the
end people don’t you love it people if you don’t if you don’t immediately get an intellectual
turgidity you you should not you know you should think your your linear life is boring and without
any sort of art and beauty right but most of you sitting here look at that word magos it’s right
the top here i’m gonna there look at the mu it looks a lot like our m doesn’t it
look at the alpha look at the alpha oh god alpha’s gorgeous alpha’s gorgeous baby right and she’s got
the accent over her right that’s cute fantastic look at the gamma next to her right you couldn’t
make a letter like this if you tried i want to know i want to know when the women created this
language, and we know that it was because we have accounts of what woman it was who handed on
the alphabet, and it worked to spread literacy. You know, she took it to those, who’d she take
it to? Those hot-dwelling Romans. Those hot-dwelling Romans, right, gave them an alphabet. Did you know
it was a greek woman who gave the romans their latin alphabet why because they were dumb they
were dumb people what other solution is that i can’t i can’t bs you people in this class i can’t
i can’t okay look at the omicron the sigma look at the sigma at the end that’s the final that’s
what you call the terminal sigma there’s two types of sigmas this one is the one that ends the word
right this one’s the one that ends the word fantastic it looks kind of like an english s
right kind of like but it’s not i want you to just want you to look at what is a magos
now you remember the three the three magi that came to jesus it doesn’t say the three but
the magi that came to jesus right what are they doing well here he’s going to define for us what
a magi is now i want you to look at something people in english you’re just going to start
right here with this word para and you’re going to start reading para tomaso tomalaso
ho now you’re going to get down to this hall on the second line you’re not even you just got to
the subject you just got to the subject of this definition right if you’re trying to read this
in with english word order you’re screwed dieton magikon oh people listen to this word right
Magikon
Magikon
Hear that omega with that deep
Deep, deep vowel
Magikon
Korn
Oh, love it
And that’s the circumflex, people
Little diddly-dop
Starting down, going up, coming down
Right? I’ve got a dead
I’ve got a dead, make it small
I’ve got a dead Greek right now
Teaching me about how to
How to sing Greek
Okay?
and i’m trying to learn right now you say wait a minute didn’t you go to graduate school i was
there for i was some total school for 12 years dog right that’s a long time you mean you didn’t learn
you didn’t learn how to pronounce this well here’s the problem people they didn’t know how to
pronounce it we don’t know how to pronounce it do you understand we’re working as best we can from
the descriptions that we get there’s one problem ancient greek was melodious when i say that i say
aristoxodus the ancient greek student of aristotle so though somebody out there read aristotle
right and i’m sure aristotle impressed you with his big brain you read that aristotle his student
one of them was kind of the founder of music the study of music he wasn’t the first musician or
anything. It was the study of music, right? Fantastic. And Aristoxenus says, look, there is a
melody, right? There is a melody in music that is that which comes from the lyre, the guitar,
the guitarra, and there is a melody that comes from the spoken Greek. He doesn’t say the spoken
Greek. That’s my crappy translation. He says from the phongos. What is that? Oh my God. It’s the
utterance of voice. Whether it’s the voice of a gorgeous bird in a tree singing a song,
whether it’s the voice of the wolf, or whether it’s the voice of your neighbor. Right? Fantastic.
So there is a melody just in their language, people. And the Greeks are the ones who are big
about making this distinction. They are merciless with upholding the beauty of their language.
They’re merciless with it. They call the world a place of two types of people. Those who speak
Greek and those who bar, bar, bar. Do you realize the ancient world was divided between the Greek
speakers and everybody else? Why is this? Because there’s melody. There is melody. And Aristoxenus
explains this and i am just now i am just now trying to solve this puzzle of her gorgeous
gorgeous this is the figure of lady greek somebody said i’m a simp oh you couldn’t have hit the mark
more accurately i am a simp for lady greek definitely definitely you know it man you know
who the dragon belongs to. Okay, go back to the definition of the Magos people. Now you’re sitting
there and you’re thinking, okay, am I learning? Yes. I want you to do exactly what I say. You’re
learning. You’re learning. And I want, when somebody puts up, Chewy, do me a favor. If somebody puts up
the name of the dead Greek that they’ve been reading, people keep putting those up and Chewy
will add those so we can see. I want everybody to be paying attention to all the different authors
that people are looking at.
Lava.
Good morning, Heather.
Good to see you.
Magus, right?
Now he starts out, para, tomaso.
He’s telling you, where is this word coming from?
The Greeks always start their definitions.
They’re anal about this, right?
Anal, retentive about the etymology, another Greek word.
Did you think you were smart?
You know, half your stupid, bog-trotting English is Greek.
Oh, God.
Don’t tell me I can’t discriminate against what is ugly.
Don’t tell me I can’t.
I need to discriminate.
That’s what you’re doing here.
I need you to discriminate against what is ugly.
Fantastic.
Fantastic.
Now, watch her beauty.
Man, watch the Mother Greek’s beauty.
where does he say the etymology of this word is now most of the words that you’re going to be
looking at are coming from verbs verbs what is a verb a verb is just a word that is a doing or a
being run jump eat right those are all verbs no problem just think of them as the action and being
words like i am right being i am in new mexico right there’s my verb i am right they shove them
together they don’t care about your pronoun fantastic give me the next one where is this
verb where’s this word magus this noun where is it coming from it’s coming from the verbs maso
and molasso. Maso and molasso. And these are verbs that mean to soften, to prepare, to roll.
They’re verbs used in the making of cakes. When I say cakes, I don’t mean birthday cakes.
Talking about things that you burn as incense that you inhale the fumes from. Do you understand me?
fantastic cakes and drugs people cakes and drugs you’ve got to work them for the person who um
for anybody who read galen right um these are the types of words that you can be coming across
in galen constantly remember galen is 10 10 of all of our you know that’s what they estimate i
don’t know how they come up with that and that changes because they’re you know like with the
discovery of um what is at the library in herculaneum that’ll change our you know will
we get 10 of that being you know um galen no because he wasn’t alive yet right so it’s going
to change our it’s going to change our overall right 10 of what we’ve got roughly is galen
fantastic who was that fantastic give me the next yeah there we go now that’s what it says now watch
people. Now, you’re going to be able to tell other people who follow the Magi, Monasts, you’ll be able
to tell them, hey, what is the definition here? It is on the second line. Oh, diaton magikon
implastron. Implastron is what I’ve got in bold. Look at it. Epsilon, mu, p, lambda, alpha, sigma,
tau, rho, omega nu. Look at this sigma right here, people. You see this sigma? That’s your
standard sigma that you’re going to be using all over the place except at the end of the words,
right? Here’s another two of them right next to each other. What happens when you get two sigmas
right next to each other? This is the word muscle. What happens when you get two sigmas right next
to each other? You know where you are. You know where you are. Do you know where you are? Can
they see it that big fantastic you know where you are you’re with pelasgians you’re with pelasgians
okay you’re with some of the oldest greek there is you are absorbing pelasgian influence these
are the people of chalcolithic people who were there before them right okay fantastic what is
the implastron people look at that word implastron looks like a long one doesn’t it implastron it’s
not that long. It’s not that long, right? We’re going to get some big ones, but this is good
standard stuff, people. What is this? It’s a drug. Are you surprised that this is a drug? Yes. This
refers to what you would call a plaster. We don’t use plasters anymore, right? This is a drug that’s
been put into a form that you can spread over a surface. You can spread over a surface. Remember,
there’s lots of ways to get drugs in your body in antiquity you get it through the eyes through the
nose through the throat through the anus right remember when jesus is putting his hands on that
dude’s face he’s like i’m blind and he’s like messing around with him you know what i mean
um this is part of the medicine you think oh my god how primitive right how primitive what did
Did Jesus just spit?
Dude, if you went to your doctor and he spit on something
and tried to put it in your eyes, what would you do?
What would you do, man?
I don’t know.
Depends.
I’d have to be there.
You know what I mean?
Maybe.
I don’t know.
Depends who’s doing it, whether they’re wearing gloves, right?
Fantastic.
Hi, Jesus.
Thanks for joining us.
Great.
Right?
What does Jesus speak, by the way?
jesus speaks great do we ever have him quoted ever ever is he walking around talking anything
other than great absolutely not absolutely not besides his magic words right which you got to
give every magus has magic words that’s right oh you didn’t know jesus was oh go back to the
definition, right, and, yep, let’s make it small a little bit, there we go, okay, so, what is a
magus, it is whole, see the whole, one who does what, oh my god, none of this is a verb, one who
does, does, I’m looking for a does word, no, none of this is does, oh, that one kind of is, this
little participle thing, kind of is, oh, and then I get to the end, prolegon, finally, I get my verb,
See, in English, this word is going to have to follow this article for this to make sense.
Because English speakers are stupid.
Do you understand?
Do you understand?
A great professor once told me, once told me, sitting in a paper watching, I think we were watching something.
He said, you’ve got to reach that point.
You know, I’m just trying to climb people.
I’m just trying to get to through my training, right?
And he’s like, look, you must don’t read like an English speaker.
And I was like, dude, what do you mean?
That’s all I know.
He said, don’t read these like an English speaker.
Don’t come up with sense until you have seen every word, including the word at the end
of the sentence.
And I was like, oh, brah, you mean you just kind of throw these words up into your mind,
right?
And you catch them. You catch them. You throw them up in the air. You look at them when they’re up in the air. You see them all. And then you catch them in some sort of English sense, right? Where’s the problem in this conversion? You always lose energy, right, in this equation. You always head toward entropy, right? Why? Why? Because you can never harness the full meaning and put it into the English.
It’s the same problem people were having when they were creating Hebrew from Greek.
When they were making this Hebrew text from this very complex Greek text,
they had to jam everything into just a very few words with a limited architecture in the language.
That’s what I’m talking about the grammar, people.
Not all grammar is created equal, right?
Not all grammar is created equal, right?
mother greek is far superior far more advanced far more technical do you understand me and that’s
what i’m talking about when i say when you translate into another language from mother
greek you lose you lose technical you lose what is the specific you lose this whole world of ideas
that they were able to pull out of thin air right it’s why we got things like democracy and science
all right fantastic for them right are we having a party for the ancient greeks we are
but you know people were necromancers i hope you realize i’m not kidding when i talk about
necromancy you want to learn the art this is the art of talking to dead people that’s what this is
fantastic fantastic give me the definition one more time people what does this say let me just
translate it for you. The Magus is the person who prophesies to you the future through magical
drugs. Okay, people? The Magus is the person who prophesies to you the future through the use
of magic drugs. Drugs. What do you do with these implastron? You Christ them. You Christ them,
people okay do you understand we own these texts because we are students of the language all right
now if you take that right now i just gave you a weapon people you realize this is dojo and if i
if you took that weapon to any monist right now and you said tell me tell me what the magi were
just say magi because they won’t recognize bogus what are the magi and whatever shitty definition
they give to you? Say, no, they are the people who prophesy the future through the use of drugs,
okay? You’ve got them, people. You know something about the Bible that they do not, right? You know
something they do not. That’s why I can explain revelation to Christians, right? It’s hilarious.
you catch them in a place in a zone where they’re they don’t get it right they don’t get how their
perception could be so different from what this text actually says we educate people that’s what
what our job is right now fantastic drug bringing magi yes they are go back one more time people i’m
beating this to death, but I just want you to, you’re jumping into the Greek now. I just want
you to be able to swim. Look at the last word, prolegon, and you’ve got to realize, I want you
to realize that this is a word built upon words, right? Pro is your prefix. That’s a preposition.
It just means in front of or before, right? We get that in English because we’re too stupid.
We were too stupid to come up with it on our own, right? You know what I mean?
we really are bog trotters you don’t realize you think you’re elevated you’re not dude
you you’re not right and this is the one time the modern greeks can sit around and be tickled
be tickled you know what i mean because it was it was their people who used this language what
happened the church came in and took your language and did things to her not even close that language
in modern turkey people somebody look this up and give me an article citation please one of
you students there’s a language in northern turkey that they just along the black sea that they just
discovered and it is the of hellenistic greek from 300 bc and they say this language is nothing
like modern greek and i read that and i was like dude i’ve been telling people this right i said
thank you to the universe for that one. This is not a joke, people. I’m telling you facts about
ancient Greek that you need to recognize. You need to recognize classical philology,
the study of this language, is the heart of all education, okay? Western. Western, sorry.
that’s my that’s my area so cool yeah fantastic fantastic oh god it’s glorious okay one more time
go back to the fantastic there we are now look people at the second oh sorry that was prolegon
right and what is that person doing that person is speaking before speaking of things before
right this is the what kind of things is that person speaking look at melanta right there
should be a ta. Yep, there she is. Ta. See the ta at the end of the sentence? Ta melon ta. You know
what that is? That is the sum of the things that are about to be. Did you know the future doesn’t
exist? It can’t, right? You’re going to get into this concept. The Greeks didn’t look. People who
spoke this language, who didn’t speak bar, bar, bar, bar, bar like you and I, who were able to
achieve that higher that higher operating system that we’re able to integrate that and use that
which i am always catching up to and making me feel very stupid people when i told you on friday
that you’re stupid i’m gonna saw right right you have to come to it with that i’m telling you
was did the person who read eras read aristotle did you did you feel like you were in the company
of someone with an equal iq or do you feel like you were you know maybe you know you can answer
that for yourself you can answer that for yourself but i know if you’re honest i know if you’re
honest you’ll appreciate the fact that you know we are we are in the company of the greats i mean
imagine people sitting down with mozart imagine sitting down with mozart what are you gonna do
doesn’t matter how doesn’t matter that you’ve studied music you play some guitar you play some
piano or something. Doesn’t matter, right? This is Mozart. It doesn’t matter. This is Sappho.
We’re sitting in the presence of people. We’re sitting in the presence of lyric guitarist people
who created civilization. What can you do? What can you do, right? If you don’t have the humility
to be able to sit in the company of those people and show reverence for them, despite the fact that
they’re dead, something’s wrong with you. You don’t belong in this discipline. Do you understand
me? Now, don’t get me wrong. There are ancient authors that I can’t stand, that I absolutely
hate. And one of them, I’ll just tell you this right now, is Plato, right? And you would think,
what? You’re a classicist and you hate Plato? I despise Plato, 100%, 100%, right? Do I respect
his muse undoubtedly undoubtedly right you’re a fool not to you’re a fool not to you see there’s
a religious awe that you owe to people like sappho that’s why they said she was the 10th goddess
right the muse right okay how do we begin our songs tell me right sing goddess sing goddess
oh god oh god here he’ll fly out please leave us sir why are the bees here so damn big look
okay close the door that’s where he’s going he’s going fantastic he was nice though i bet he would
have made friends with our spider we had a very we had a very we had resurrected a spider this
this uh what was that yesterday or day before a couple days ago yeah it turns out they can drown
and then you leave them out and they’ll dry off and get back up and he was all like hey there we
chewy caught him a fly i didn’t think she would figure out that but she did and she caught him
flying fed it to him i got to watch him i got to watch him eat now he lives in our kitchen
people are saying um go back to the kitchen the internet has dropped through the floor
i can’t i don’t know why we did something wrong looked at something wrong we have one
chewy is happy to report that we have one mbps right it’s kind of funny isn’t it it’s kind of
funny can you believe that can you believe that give me the next one yeah yeah it did that was
worse it used to be when we used to when we used to have shows in the kitchen it used to be
what it was like 12 or something yeah between 8 and 8 and 12 somewhere they cut us down to one
for some reason i’m sure it’s because we talk about them on i still gotta you know what it’s
it’s farming people it’s absolute farming i love it give it to me we don’t care look people we’re
breaking through right we’re breaking through they’re going to teach you these people who
prophesy these magi they’re going to teach you through these magic drugs magikon implastron
now if you are living with me and i am your teacher in the first century and jesus is next
door with his 12 kids right and i’ve got you and we’re like hey we got way more us than you
No, I’m just kidding. If Jesus is there teaching, what is he doing to his students?
If he is a magus, he is using the drugs to balance their constitutions, to give them vision.
And these are magikon in plastron. These are drugs that you and I would say are magic.
they’re created by these magi now you know why there’s a crowd that asks jesus they say are you
are you drugged right they know what that means right they’re looking for the students as soon
as he breaks in with that do you know why because we have generations and generations of christ
they used to call them they used to call them right this is just a subsection of them you can
the same thing about the oracles you could say they’re a subsection of christ but there’s another
group that’s involved in paideia with mathetes with a student you that’s the word they use for
apostle right and those students right the the apostle is one sent out and they have an expression
for that right but this group that they’re referring to when they use the word apostle
are the group of mathetai, the students, and there’s a specific subset historically of these
christers who are known as centaurs, kentaoroi. Do you know why? As we saw last Friday night,
as we saw, these are people who are not mythical figures. This is not some fairy tale.
The dragons are temple guardians, just like the Medusae.
Do you understand, right?
We know all that.
That’s what’s going on with these texts as we’re dealing with a subset.
And these educators who have these students are known for one thing.
They’re known for a Greek word, paiderasteia, paiderasteia.
Everybody, everybody in Greek, paiderasteia, pederasteia.
now in the last how long we’ve been going in class today 42 minutes i told you to read something this
weekend read some read a translation of some ancient greek so you can just start getting a
feel carlos rammed galen in there he went he speedballed it you know what i mean nice job
carlos somebody else did aristotle oh he’s testing yourself you must be humble because you wouldn’t
be reading Aristotle. Otherwise, right? We are on our way. In 43 minutes, you have learned a whole
new picture of the world. You didn’t know this about Christing, right? You didn’t know there
was sex involved in Christing, right? Chewy, give me another one. People, this is what you’re going
to, I’m going to tell you to read. The assignment for today will be to read your introduction for
tomorrow, right? Yeah, please go ahead. Put that up. People, here’s another definition. Look at the
word in bold the first letter is capitalized that’s a lambda and all of those capitalized
letters they’re only capitalized because we make them so they were not an antiquity they didn’t
distinct they didn’t discriminate in their manuscripts on their scrolls as they’re writing
right they didn’t discriminate between upper and lower case and they didn’t have spaces even
between words they just ran everything together and sometimes they’d go left to right and when
they got at the end on the right they drop down and go right to left what are these lay story
right now this modern greek this modern greek aficionado came along in some kind of refutation
video and started screaming about my accent and pronunciation of my ada because he didn’t see
what i have seen that in classical greek in antiquity there is an iota there’s an extra
syllable right they put an umlaut over it is they put a little umlaut yeah right to get you to know
this has to be pronounced by itself it can’t be part of a diphthong right right fantastic so
lay east toy what are what are what are these ladies so what is it that jesus is yelling i am
not when he is on when he is being arrested with a naked kid says these are the people who who make
they’re living from the booty and the art of Lesteia, which is human trafficking. They’re
Ketoi, right? And it comes from the idea of taking human booty. Taking human booty. The idea
that if you can be put into a state of having your humanity reduced to slavery, you remember
what Jesus taught and what Jesus was so happy about? You’re my slave, bitch. That’s a quote
by Jesus. That’s a quote by Jesus. He says it a lot. Paul reinforces it. We’re all his slaves,
bitches. Your status as a human can be reduced to that of a slave. Do you understand? What aren’t
you don’t. What are you as a slave? You are a product to be used. And if you are talking about
boys and girls, you are talking about their use within the sex trade. Do masters have intercourse
with their young girls and boys? Yes, they do. Yes, they do. It has penetrated the language to the
extent that the language reveals it openly your fairy tale world of what you think the past was
is about to be exploded it’s about to be exploded i’m not a jesus slave right and i’m a slave most
definitely i don’t look hannah i’m glad you said that was that hannah yeah hannah uh nobody is is
a slave here. That’s the point. What do we all get to do when we all worship Bacchus? What do we all
get to do? Hail Satan, right? What do we all get to do? We all get to be free, right? Bacchus doesn’t
want you as a servant. Isn’t that surprising? It’s not surprising, right? The devil doesn’t want you
to serve him, right? That’s not the point, right? What did he do for Eve? He freed her. He said,
No, no, no. That guy’s lying to you. Your Lord, he’s lying to you. You partake of this, and your
eyes will be opened, baby, right? And she did, and she was free. The lie that was told by the Lord
couldn’t hold her. Do you see? It’s gorgeous, isn’t it? Oh, God. Oh, God. Love it. Okay, bring up that
next quote. It’s too bad you can’t. No, next. Yep, you’re gonna find it. Yeah, fantastic. What is that
ktetos. What is that ktetos? People, look at this word. I can’t really blow it up, can I? Ktetos. Oh,
there we can. Now, look at this, people. They put a kappa with a tau. We don’t typically
voice like that, right? But they did ktetos from ktaomai. Notice it’s from what is in parentheses
here is the verb that it’s from. I want you to be paying attention to that because now if you go
look up ktahomai, you’re going to see how this word is formed. That may be, it’s that which may
be gotten or acquired. And what does it say here? Something that can be gotten. Who’s doing the
getting? Leistoi. Leistoi. Leistoi. Now, what is a ktetei? Look at the bottom. What is a ktetei?
it’s a female who is a slave and she is involved. She’s not a gamete. She’s not a gamete. She’s the
other one that is not legitimate. Do you understand? This is your illegality. Do you think this has
something to do with your morality? Absolutely not. And that’s why Jesus is scared shitless
when he gets arrested this is the world you’re they’re living in give me the next one people
it’s harsh but i want you to see it i want you to see it what does it mean here’s a verb people
this is a dictionary excuse me a lexicon entry and look at leads oh my what does it just mean
to be laced days it means to plunder to despoil especially by raids and forays right now notice
Who’s an example they give?
Colhida.
Isn’t that nice?
Who do you think Colchis is?
That’s Medea, right?
Right?
We’re talking about raiders and plunderers.
And I want you to see at the bottom, number two, an active voice.
When you raid or plunder, what are you doing?
You’re raiding.
If you read through those examples, you’re raiding people.
Do you want to know a specific person who was raided?
Give me that next one.
Boom.
This is the voice of Medea. Now, this is the voice of Medea coming through Euripides, who is sitting in a cave at the directions of his mother, who is a root collector, right? A root cutter, they call them.
They wrote plays about these, right, about these women, right?
Oh, I forgot to tell you they’re women.
His mother is one of them, Euripides, the famous playwright, his mother is one of them.
And he sits in a cave and composes in a cave where the fumigations are going to be working.
You mean Euripides was stoned when he was writing?
Yeah, and you’re going to find a whole bunch of authors who were fantastic.
What does it say at the top?
These are the words of Medea, right?
Oh, I just put this up for you to catch that she says,
look, I’d rather fight three times in battle, right,
than have one birth.
Do you understand, right?
When you’re giving birth in antiquity,
you’ve got about a one in three.
so husbands realize if you’re using your submitted wife your modest submitted wife
you’re going to kill her every third kid okay c’est la vie and if you don’t have the right drugs
you got a much higher chance so you better go to somebody who knows what they’re doing
and that’s what the midwives are for and the midwives say i’ve read it in the greek don’t
trust the males. They have no idea what they’re doing. When I read that, I was like, oh, right.
And I’d read a ton of game and great physicians who thought they knew everything, right? And here’s
a, oh God, here’s a Hippocratic lady talking about, um, you’ve got to, you’ve got to go to
a female if you want, um, proper birthing. Go. Next one. Yeah, I believe so. Yeah. So here’s
where that quote comes from. But then I want you to, I want you to look at the bottom. I want you
look at the bottom ek gays barbaru from a non-greek speaking place right she was what she was laced
medea was laced you realize when those greeks sailed all the way in their big which they say
was the biggest ship at the time the argo right it was basically the titanic of its age right filled
full of warriors having to go what having to go be laced die and abduct this girl because remember
she’s just on the cusp of marriage ability leading a civil war can you believe that leading a civil
war dude dude what kind what more just i don’t know was joan of arc kind of the same what is
that where you find justice do you have to find that’s where you can’t get the tyrant right look
at your tyrants today line them up in a room and just look at them look at trump putin netanyahu
and kim put them all in a line put she on the end too put them all in a line and ask yourself what
do these people have in common what are these tyrants you could put you know what just for
because we’re historians right you would also put and people what am i doing i’m teaching a classical
philology because you’re going to be reading texts where they’re doing this all right take all of our
tyrants and line them up right line them up and say what what do they have in common what do they
have in common 300 000 people dead from cutting off aid cutting off supplies of food surrounding
besieging bombarding starving where does all this blood go look into the faces of the tyrants
that’s what they have in common and they’re not energized until they have that blood people they
have to have that blood some kid somewhere innocent kid has to pay for it right right do
you think do you think in hell they care about what your flag was i don’t give a fuck about your
flag you killed innocence oh god the horrors the horrors of wonderful people you’ve got to realize
these people these these greek speakers and remember people the language that you’re studying
spans 2 000 years we’re going to be working with sources 2 000 years apart and every ethnic group
you can possibly imagine jammed together right that’s why the that’s why the people who spoke
the language were discriminatory, not against a person’s appearance, but against what came out of
their mouths. Isn’t that something? Isn’t that something? You got no word for free speech in
your language, right? You realize we had to take that from them, the Greeks. You realize when all
those white men were writing your constitution, you realize they were stealing concepts from the
greeks to build their civilization and wisely so wisely so good for them right and they were saying
the monists are the biggest threat people the monists the biggest threat this is presbyterians
and thomas jefferson’s letters and let’s go back to the text right fantastic look at the bottom
people look at the bottom bottom line that’s where medea with the voice of euripides says that she
was abducted. She was trafficked. They went up to get to her. Do you understand? They wanted to
bring her back and leverage her power in Greece. And this little princely SOB was sent to do the
job, right? He was sent to do the job. Why? He had to get Medea on his side. Who else is going to beat
those big dragons? Seriously? That trophy, dumbass. You’re not getting close to the tech. Fantastic.
um next next next next i just want to do a couple more then we’re going to talk about how you need
to proceed people here’s the word for liar oh god and it’s etymology yeah what does this say
it’s coming from luo what luo that’s the verb i’ve got it in bold here luo do you know what
your guitar is now i’m going to say this i’m going to say this to the person who doesn’t have a guitar
like me right who i held a guitar once i held a guitar once and it felt so
foreign in my hands i said this is not for me but from the person
who’s never had a guitar to the person who is
the utmost master of the guitar to somebody who could sit with
mozart or aristoxenus and could see eye to eye
from the least to the greatest do you know what your guitar is
according to this it’s that which frees
it is the device of freedom you see the guitar players used to be in charge we didn’t have
businessmen we didn’t have failed businessmen we didn’t have pirates we didn’t have people who
valued greed above all else for whom the fires of hell are waiting i’m sorry that turns me on so
much oh god somebody needs the images of tyrants in hell that’s what we need what happens people
With the lyre, it is an instrument that is meant to free you, an instrument that is meant to free
you. And if you as a lyre player are not freeing the world, you’re probably playing the type of
music that they call bad, right? There’s good music and bad music, and good music makes you
good. It frees you. Bad music turns you into a slave and is punishable. Do you get that?
Why do they go? Why do they listen? Oh, God, it’s gorgeous. Did you know it was all part of
how civilization works, how you can spread civilization? Yeah, you know it. You know it,
right the mastery of those instruments is what creates beauty oh god and they know it too
right those sons of god those sons of god who capture that muse right oh god you know they
love it yeah oh chewy’s gonna refresh give us a pause for a second and then we’ll wrap up go ahead
chewy all right there we go i think we should be back okay put me up the next one to read up
there people and i want you to pay careful attention careful oh god what did i what did
i bring all this for oh this is a julius uh what’s his name oh this is a grammarian julius
pollux i think this is his name anyway um he’s talking about grouping words together and i just
want you to see at the end of paragraph 14 under the yellow i just want you to look at the last
word pithia pithia right now what is this what is this okay curiously go to line three and i just
want you to read with me grace my boy grace more logoy grace more dotai what is he doing what is
he doing and then he puts firebearers over here to the why is he putting firebearers with those
who read the oracles, these priestesses herei, who are doing what?
They’re thelei, priestesses who are doing what?
Like the boothia.
All of this paragraph is the vocabulary involved with oracular speech.
Julius has brought it out for us.
Oh, my God.
Isn’t that nice?
Now, look, people, this is a way of learning ancient vocabulary
that no New Testament scholar will ever have had access to or been exposed to.
And I am exposing you to it on day two.
By exercising yourselves in texts like this,
you will be able to laugh at the most advanced Bible scholars
from the most advanced seminaries and universities across the world.
Do you understand the potency of what I’m giving you?
This is for soldiers with discipline.
You’re going to have to be Marines.
Give me the next one.
Yes, beautiful.
And this should be, I think this is the last one.
Now, people, one of the last ones here.
What are these?
These are some words in Greek that issued from the mouth of the huntress.
Came from the mouth of the huntress.
And what does she say?
Read along with me.
That first word is just three little letters.
Dos, dos, dos.
give it’s a command it’s a command dos moi give to me what am i giving to me where what does she
want given to her parthenian what is parthenia or parthenia what is that it is your virginhood
virginhood is that the breaking of your clitoris of your oh god what did i just
stumble is that the breaking of a person’s hymen no that’s how you and i define virginity that is
not how they are defining virginity virginity is an age it is the age in which you have not
how can i it is the age that you have come to that nature has made you receptive of life
Do you understand? But you are not yet producing. You mean I can get married at 14, get divorced
a year later without having kids, or say my husband gets killed and I don’t have any kids.
I’m still a virgin. Correct. This is not the status of your vagina’s hymen. This is an age.
it is the age in which you have not yet brought forth a child it is not the age that you have
not had intercourse there are plenty of parthenoi who have who have done it do you understand they
have not yet had children it is a stage of life in which you have not yet had children but you’ve
come to the point that you can okay so somebody somebody who cannot have children naturally is
not yet a parthenos okay fantastic mary that’s why mary fits perfectly right she is that 12 year old
when they kick her out of the temple for getting you know well when they auction her off right with
her purple fingers right fantastic she’s still a parthenos she hasn’t had a child yet okay now you
know now you know now see i just taught you something that will completely correct everything
you have learned from christianity about the virgin birth what is a virgin blah blah blah
because they look at it through their own lens that is not the language that this comes from
it’s very unscientific people bible scholars and seminarians theologians they’re the worst
they’re the least academic people around i’m telling you it is far more akin to flim flamory
Anytime you go to a religious school of monists, I don’t care if it’s attached to any of the big three, any of the monism.
I don’t care if it’s a Catholic school.
I don’t care if it’s part of a synagogue.
I don’t care if it’s part of an imam is teaching it and it’s part of services.
That education is not education.
And how can I say that?
The language itself, our evidence, points to it being false, a false system.
Oh, my God.
Just from the word definitions, people, it’s amazing.
It’s amazing how your eyes open up, right?
Right?
Yes, I encourage you, Hail Satan, never to learn anything from a religious,
modest organization, right?
You want to go to, you want to go back in time and learn from the pagans, right?
with all the temples around, all the different gods and justice and liberty and all of those
factors. And what is tyranny? You want to go back to the creators of democracy? You’re going to go
back to this world that was polytheistic, fighting against a monotheistic virus all the way back from
Egypt, dude. All right. With the worship of Aten, they fought their own battle. Fantastic. Let’s
keep going. Let’s keep going. What kind of virginity does she want? Let’s say this word
together. I-O-NI-ON. Do you hear that? I’m pronouncing with syllables. I is your first
syllables. O, that’s your second. NI, third. ON, fourth. I-O-NI-ON. Do you get it? I-O-NI-ON.
What is Ionian virginity? It is Ionic virginity. You have seen Ionic life. Now you see Ionic
virginity. Let me possess the virginity of the Ion. Fantastic. It’s a request, people.
It’s a request. And how does she want, what is she going to, what is she going to be doing
to this virginity is she a modest who’s sitting there like satan accuses god of and says look
your people they just come to you because you want something right they want something that’s
that’s the only reason if the turn it off for a minute if job if job had been left with nothing
and then hadn’t cursed god everything would have been fine but that wasn’t what happened
he was completely restored anybody who’s completely restored and given he wasn’t just
He was made more wealthy, right?
So he could jump around on a stage, show his belly button to people.
You know what I mean?
But the fact is the devil was right.
He gave him everything back.
The only reason the people of a monist deity follow that deity is because that deity gives
them everything, whether it’s land grants or salvation or 70 virgins in a bubble where
they don’t poop.
Your greed stains your souls with the stench of ruin.
Yeah, those are the ghosts that we have come to.
Do you understand me?
Those of you who are attending, I’m in you.
Do you understand me?
Can you feel me?
This is what I want you to do for tomorrow.
I just want you to sit down and peruse the introduction.
Read it, read it.
Don’t memorize it, please.
I’m not going to test you.
I want you to read it to familiarize yourself with just an introduction to the language,
to the language, and I want you to master the letters, okay? Master the letters,
especially the seven vowels, because that’s the key to everything. Oh, God, it’s going to make
life such an easier place, you know what I mean, if we can catch the music. Now, for those of you
wondering i’ve got the priest of apollo cracking the most significant code of history yeah i’m
i’m serious i’m serious reaching in like a true necromancer right reaching in and pulling out
that gorgeous gorgeous muse of the dead oh god and it requires such craft i’m humbled
just to be the the conveyor that’s all i am is the conveyor of this just the the voice the simple
voice like a like i’m just playing out the melody that’s it it’s nothing of my work i’m just
conveying it it’s the song that has to be heard by the master it’s the song that has to be heard
by the master it’s absolutely gorgeous and it’s no wonder it’s no wonder they looked at their
goddess who created everything who’s without a father who is herself her own father and
everything that’s created is created based on that melody and that love for the muse oh god
oh god it’s gonna crack it up crack it everybody from satanic congregation please
please focus focus your dreams on the priest of apollo right to bring us that original to bring
us back what came from the dead, the guitar itself, that harmony that creates the fracture
of tyranny. Oh, God. And brings freedom to the world. Oh, what am I? What am I on? It sounds
like hope, but it’s not. It sounds like hope, but it’s not, people. I’ve seen this work. I’ve seen
it work through history with these texts and the power that they’ve got. The stuff that I’m going
to show you this semester. It’s going to blow your mind. Thank you for coming today. Please,
please, for next time, read the introduction to your intensive Greek course. I showed you
the second. Can we bring that up really quick? Second revised edition, people. It says on the
back of it, it’s that orange text of Hanson and Quinn. Greek and intensive course, I think it’s
call yeah um take a look back i showed you the title of it shows you the cover of it and hansen
and quinn of the authors you can get electronic copies of that thing right you can get no you can
no that’s okay you can get electronic copies of it whatever i don’t know people you’re going to
need to acquire it fantastic fantastic it is my privilege my honor and my duty to bring you this
material without greed in the purity of the satanic power that guides this universe thank you for
coming hail satan
roll around like a zombie do eyes roll in the back of the head eating the dead blood drinkers
snow blind again on the microphone one two orific harmony on the harp it’s donnie darko
Milkin’ these motherfuckin’ bricks out
Teddy face, puttin’ in more work
We’re politicians pullin’ your skirts
Just dance a little bit
Rugger, wugger, two shoes at the party
Dressed to kill
