Ammon Hillman reads the scene not as a fairy tale but as the same drug performance the show has been tracing, the mystery of anomia that Paul writes about.
The episode then walks through the prison process. Those taken are held for thirty days, forced to eat grass, dragged through the city daily, bled into a large basin, and prepared as meat, with a small tablet marking how many days remain. Matthias is told to wait twenty-seven days for rescue, and Jesus appears inside a light, returns his sight, and steps back into Ouranos (Οὐρανός), the sky. The show connects the city of flesh-eaters to the words eat my flesh and drink my blood, and to the charge that Jesus casts out spirits by the power of Beelzebul. The claim is that the early Christian imagination was full of this rite, not dry theology.
The opening half uses modern prayers to make the same point. It plays Franklin Graham blessing the president in the White House and reading the book of Esther as a divine command to strike Iran, then clips Paula White and a Catholic priest blessing the same man. Against that it sets Jesse Dullamore calling the gathering out plainly, and a recording of LH reading Talmud lines about intercourse with a girl of three years and one day. The episode then points to Ezekiel, a Jewish writer in Alexandria who made plays in Greek about Moses, as the opposite of what the show calls the genocidal religion.
