Video Description
The question in the title is why monotheism does not want people to dance, and the episode answers it with the musician Aristoxenus, who worked around Aristotle at the start of the new sciences. His account names the sacred stage act called hilarōdia (ἱλαρωδία) and the comic act called magōdia (μαγωδία), a word built from magos (μάγος), the magus, because the performance involves magic and the display of the power of drugs. In this reading, the song, the rhythm, and the chanted word were not entertainment; they were the way the god possessed the chorus.
The screen works through the names for those performers and their equipment. The hilarōdos is the singer of joyful songs whose voice rides over the lyra (λύρα), while the magōidia is a rude pantomime tied to the kōmos (κῶμος), the revel. Ammon Hillman lists the foreign stringed instruments Aristoxenus catalogs, the phoinix (φοῖνιξ), pēktis (πηκτίς), magadis (μάγαδις), sambykē (σαμβύκη), trigōnon (τρίγωνον), klepsiambos (κλεψίαμβος), daktulos, and the nine-stringed enneachordon (ἐννεάχορδον), and argues that the seven-stringed lyre was the perfection toward which they all aimed, the instrument that helped open the way to democracy.
The final share of the hour is about the movement itself. The dances are named: the emmeleia (ἐμμέλεια) for tragedy, the kordax (κόρδαξ) for comedy, and the sikinnis (σίκιννις) for the satyr play, each a rhythmic, communal motion meant to be done as one body and sometimes danced with shields. The argument is that the stage was a machine for purifying society, that bad music was once punished because music freed the soul from tyrants, and that when the music is taken away something else fills the space. The proof brought in is Paul, whose letter lists porneia (πορνεία), idolatry, komoi, and drug work as the works of the flesh, read here as a later attempt to shut down the old Bacchic tide.

Thank you for watching.
the beast bears up lady babylon rain man rain man on the song serenade them in the dragon mist
they’ll just hit them a little bit twisting on this mother
hot purple lady babylon make it rain
tonight i’m gonna have to be kind of still go ahead and reduce me chewie fantastic i’m gonna
have to be kind of still and slow and purposeful because we are running from the empire tonight oh
god we’re on the side of the road running people seriously no that’s our speed tonight so um
i want to say welcome back to lady babylon and initiating apocalypse it’s nice to be with you
again. I have some great material for you tonight, and I think it’s going to shine light on a lot of
things that, you know, maybe needed some light shined on it. I’ve got some marvelous text for
you tonight. I’ve got some Aristoxenus. Oh, sexy. Who is that? Aristoxenus was a musician
who worked, he was a peripatetic. He worked with, what’s his name? Aristotle, right? So we’re in the
age when the sciences are being born. Botany is under Theophrastus. Aristotle’s student is being
born, right? This is Hellenistic Greece, baby. Love it. And what is happening? Well, one of the
areas that is being really drawn down is music. And this is one of the dudes. And I want you to
remember, people, they weren’t able to reproduce this stuff in the Renaissance. I’m going to show
you some cult performance tonight that’s going to really, before tonight, you would say, I really
didn’t understand what a Bacchant was. I didn’t understand what the worship of Bacchus was.
I’m gonna show it to you people I’m gonna show it to you and in a way that
you hadn’t considered so far and I hope it’s fun it may get a little bit dirty
it may get a little bit dirty because we have to get down into the slime that’s
on the ground in order to be part of that native culture that is using mother
Greek right oh god we’re gonna see some things mother Greek does tonight by the
way I went to New York I gave him just a slice of the beauty of mother Greek oh
god now people are upset because everybody assumed all language was
created equal and it’s not it is not and there is this form of language that is
so far superior to the runting runts that are around it that she just gobbled them up just
ate them one at a time come here come here so sexy of a history we have the language is so
incredible it’s so incredible oh god you ever just drift through a lexicon you ever just do that try
that sometime. Just drift through a lexicon. We’re also going to bring Jesus because everybody
loves Jesus, right? You better love Jesus, right? Here we go because we’re going to bring him and
I’m going to bring you something that if you are a monist, you have probably sat in church
and heard this phrase over and over again and you have never understood it. You’ll never hear,
put yourself right here. Put yourself right here. There you are. Never heard the stitch up.
No, you haven’t. You think you have, but you haven’t, right? Oh, God. Are we living in the
age of ignorance? We are living in a time, people, where the growth of civilization was
devastated, regressed, and what we had develop was 1,800 years of monist lies.
Monist lies!
And now we’re in court, and we have the evidence in front of us.
And we don’t need the theology.
We don’t need your attempt to explain theologically and justify and eschatological.
Give me this! Take this!
God! Now they’re ringing. Fantastic. I want people to look. It’s something. Religion at its most natural. Are you ready for this? Are you ready for this? These Greeks. Oh, God. These people. It wasn’t just Greece. The people who were using the Greek language. Oh, they got to such a place. It’s unfair, people.
The fact that we have thought that the Torah and the Old Testament, that these were written, that this document was written in a language with 7,000 words that had been dead for centuries.
You are high if you think that’s the case.
And guess what?
It’s everybody.
Do you know why?
1800 years ago shift in the timeline a false metamorphosis and all of a sudden a fake history
and a mind disease called theology oh god oh god what happens to a civilization that grows
i’m about to show you i’m about to show you this is what you produce people your greatest asset
was not your tar in the ground, your burbling petroleum. It’s not your greatest asset,
your gases and your minerals, you idiots. It’s your language. And look where you are,
bog-trotting English. God, what a waste. And let me ask you one more time before we get to the text,
how many words, people, go ahead and blow me up, Chewy, and get some answers from the congregation.
People, how many words did you invent today? How many English words did you invent? The answer in
all your heads is zero, because that is beyond the capacity of English. I’m going to show you
words, invented words in ancient Greek. Ancient Greek is a language so different from modern
Greek. I find it hilarious. Hilarious. Two of my best buds in graduate school, Tom and Kiki.
Oh, God. They were both Spartans. Well, they weren’t Spartans. They were from the Peloponnesus,
right? Laugh it. And what did they hate and teach me to hate? Presumption. I am a modern Greek.
therefore I can read these texts. No, you can’t. No, you can’t. Oh, it’s gorgeousness. And that’s
why they came to the University of Wisconsin, these Greeks, so that they could study ancient
Greek, which is just like the language they discovered last year in the mountains in Turkey
along the Black Sea. Sister languages, Hellenistic Greek and this language. And this language is so
far different from modern greek oh god they don’t even oh stop it don’t presume amateurs this is a
professional ring here we deal with ancient greek and i am a classical philologist oh did you like
it give me the first slide love it here we go are you ready let’s just jump right into it
Aristoxenus. What is Aristoxenus talking about? He says the Hilarodia, that holy act,
it’s ultimately coming from tragedy, and the Magodia from comedy. And oftentimes,
the Magodes, what happens to them? They have their own contests, their own comic contests.
And they are judged in their own legitimate struggles on their platform.
These Magodes.
And the name Magodia, it comes from the combo of the use of magic and displaying the powers of drugs.
So I talked about Magodia.
What the hell is that?
Exactly. We’re talking about facets of Bacchic worship, including song and dance. Calibrated, regulated, rhythmic dance. Ruth Moss. Oh, what is the rhythm? Do you understand? Look at the word in yellow. It’s the drugs, people. Get down the…
Look at the word in yellow, people, drugs.
What does drug taking and magic have to do with the stage?
Everything, for those of you who have been watching, right?
Everything, you know.
And by the way, people, I want to say all of these Lady Babylon episodes,
all of them are like papers, right?
People will ultimately have to go through the text that I am presenting
and the information in order to figure out what’s going on.
They’re a testimony to one thing and one thing alone,
and that is the voice of the muse singing to you and I through Greek, right?
Sing to us.
Give me the next.
What are these Magodes, right?
What is the Magodia?
My God.
Hello, Lucifer.
No, it’s different.
we’re still behind we’re still behind what is that thing well if you want to know what the
maggot is you got to know what the hill road is what is that people a singer of joyous not comic
joyous songs there’s a difference here you remember the hilaria you remember what is the
pillow road. It is that person who is able to capture that pleasing graciousness in the form
of a vocal accompaniment to the liar, not the liar accompanying the voice, the voice accompanying
the liar. And they make the distinction. They make that distinction very clearly. Next one.
They make it, it’s like a big deal. I don’t know, maybe some of you musicians out there will understand it. Remember, we’re talking about the iamb. This is yambos, and what is it? It’s that metrical foot, right? Watch, iambic verse, iambic poem, that’s great. They talk about Clemicus, beautiful, Hellenistic, Greek, right? Genius people, right?
This is when the language is really flourishing. Lampoon, lampoon, lampoon. That is what I’m doing
with my I am. That’s why the bottom line, you’ll see the Dithyram in Greek and the Triambos. What
is Triambos? That is the name of Dionysus, okay? They do not know what the etymology. I’ve seen
guesses and they guessed in antiquity right they guessed in antiquity but like the word
sybil this one’s kind of this one’s kind of murky it comes from a past that is buried deep deep deep
several thousand years before jesus okay fantastic give me the next one okay so i i told you i was
gonna what’s a maggot right what the what the hell is a maggot right remember tragedy what is maggoty
right comedy right do you see what’s going on here ancient greek is the language that’s unique
because it facilitates the creation of novelty it works with the brain it doesn’t set itself
as a template, but it gives you tools to build from your observations. That is a superior mistress.
What is the magotia? It’s a rude pantomime. Wait a minute. This is part of the religion, right?
When I go to church, I don’t see any, make me small, I don’t see any rude pantomimes. I don’t
see any rude pantomimes, people, right? It’s not very descriptive either because something that
you think is rude, I may not think it’s so rude. And you know what I mean, vice versa, and what
you call it. So here’s what I want you to do. I want you to imagine what do these satyrs who have
satiriasis, which is a condition of priapism, what do they do in their dances? Do you want to see the
naked dances. Do you want to see them? Of course you do. They’re in the text, people. I’m going
to bring them to you. Love it. Ready? Bacchic. It’s going to get really bacchic. I’m telling
you. You’re going to say, I didn’t know what bacchic was. Give me the next one. That magodea
is part of the comos. What is that? It’s the revel, the carousal. Have you ever been reveling
when you go to church do you see pantomime that’s dirty and do you revel no you don’t
but jesus did yes and we’re gonna clean this activity we’re gonna take it out of society
we’re gonna keep our beloved faithful from it or my name isn’t paul the venom immune apostle
Who goes to the sixth and seventh heavens and finds the visions, whether they’re in flesh or spirit, I don’t know.
Oh, God.
Again, please don’t put a puzzle.
Sometimes I swear I can see the dirt of Paul’s ass cheeks on my whip.
I swear.
Take a bath, dude.
Seriously.
Give me the next one.
The commos, the revel.
um look at the bottom the ode so can be the act of the revelry the carousal or it can be a band
of revelers or it can be the song that they are singing and if you think these revelers
are not keeping the rhythm then you’re an idiot this is the mystery right and the people sit
around writing academic papers. All of you naughty academics from all the naughty academic places
with their money piles. Don’t you love it? You rich morons. You write your papers and they’re
fucking useless. They’re useless. Your academia stinks of armpits, crotches,
sweaty undergarments of monks oh god curse upon it all right it’s ineffectual the very fact that
you don’t even know what classical philology is before you came in here that is a testimony
to the shit that is harvard princeton yale classics that is a testimony it’s a testimony
that i can travel and that i can go see people and they can have their eyes open to a new world
Because you idiot academics were trying to prostitute the stuff.
You were keeping it from the people.
Do you know what happens to academics in the underworld?
Yeah, let me just say one thing.
Lubricant.
Love it.
Hail Satan.
You know what I mean?
Everybody, give me some Hail Satan, people.
Right?
We want justice.
We want nemesis.
Baby, you cannot be.
you cannot be one of these revelers without nemesis oh you’re giving some hell say hell
satan everybody right right laugh it laugh it for anybody who’s new right hail satan right thank you
for coming and hail satan fantastic fantastic there’s a lot there’s a lot of hail satans look
How many hell Satan do we need?
Look at the logic and the reason that Satan gives us.
Oh, God.
Isn’t it gorgeous?
Love it.
I love it, people.
Who works these?
Who gives this to you?
I give it to you.
Satan gives it to you.
It’s all commingled.
Isn’t it beautiful?
Life is beautiful, man.
Give me the next one.
Boom.
People, I want you to thank Mago Dia.
What is magodia? Well, it’s from this word magus, right? Here’s just the mag root, which is really
just mu gamma, right? That mag root comes from principally the group of people who followed
the medewa. That’s with the digamma. That’s with the digamma. By the way, before I forget,
I’ll be doing on Friday a Lady Babylon edition with, from now on, every Friday, with the ending being Amen U.
What I’ll do is I’ll continue to progress through the text with you.
For anybody who’s interested in the intensive course and making it through.
And maybe, not this Friday, we’ll have in the future more people who have been through the intensive course and are reading now.
right at that introductory reading level right oh god it’s gorgeous so we will continue almond you
almond you will be back right fantastic my reading class i want you i’m not going to be it’s going to
take me a few more weeks to do what i need to do my reading class i want you to start looking at
Homeric grammars. Homeric grammars. How do you learn ancient Greek? Somebody says, some fool
will say, oh, you just live today in modern Greece and walk around. Oh, God, it’s so amazing. No,
you learn the same way that they learned in antiquity. How did they learn? How did the
Greeks learn ancient Greek? How did they learn it? They learned it by studying Homer, the grammar,
syntax the lexicon of homeric words and how they develop and odd forms are forms right read that
people read it uh and um start reading some homer because we need to get you into can i tell you
this satanic congregation just by reading greek grammar you will expand your brain you expand your
brain connections stuff happens right all right okay and don’t worry we all we all come at it as
modern idiots all right fantastic fantastic right there’s a reason they say it’s greek to me right
There’s a reason they don’t say, oh, it’s Italian to me, because Italian is a modern language that is not even a 50th of the complexity of ancient Greek.
And modern Italian is not a word, is not a language, where we go around coining words on the regular in order to describe our surroundings and interactions with others.
It’s got a set lexicon. There’s a phenomenon, a linguistic phenomenon, people. There are languages whose lexica are set in concrete, and there is one language in history whose lexicon was continuously, forever, purposefully expanding.
right? Hapoxlegomena are not words that only appear once because we only happen to have one
record of them. They’re the author’s own creations with the language. And every author has a
fingerprint. Now you and I are sitting around, we don’t do this, but imagine if we did under the
training of this language, reach out and start forming our own vocabulary. Look at the people
around you look at the person on your left and on your right and if you don’t have somebody on your
left your right go to your bathroom and look in the mirror and ask yourself do i use a language
that creates and the answer is no the renaissance come with the tech of the language oh god oh god
give it to me this stuff is so intellecto erotic my god that’s the magic good give me the next one
people don’t forget medea right because this is all at the heart even the mago dia yes right oh
god give me the next one please oh there’s by the way lovely mass tonight chewy lovely mats each
one people each of these mats is an intention right behind it is an entire universe aristoxenus
the musician says look there are all sorts of foreign instruments right that are our liar
and then he goes on to name eight of them right foinikas right pectidas
Magadidas, Sambucas, Trigona, Klepsiambus, you know the Iamb in that one, Iamb, Dapsus,
and the, everybody’s favorite, the Enea Horton, the nine-stringer, right, these are all, wait a
minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, these are all guitars, yep, they’re all
guitars produced by um aristide aristoxenus says by cultures outside of those that speak
the greek okay they’re not using the lyre they’re using derivations of it you know why we hit that
seven string lyre and perfection was set in motion and creation of democracy was possible
yeah because we found the harmony we found the harmony now let me show you some of the instruments
that led us in that direction give me the next slide look at some of these people you’re not
going to know you’re not going to know these right what is the phoenix well you thought the
phoenix was a just a phoenician right cadmus where does the purple come from and it’s burning it’s
not the burn that’s burning these people are terrible they don’t know the use of voice even
it’s amazing it’s amazing it’s absolutely amazing you’re a joke you’re
a joke you get in the ring with a master and you look like a fool you look like a
fool what is that Phoenician right well look at number two it’s that purple
right if it’s not the dude or do that standing there it can be the thing that
they are most known for and that is the trade production and trade of the purple right the
tyrrhenians are going to get involved in this and the greeks are going to have to descend upon them
and make things right you don’t even you don’t even know these sources give me the next one
what else is that phoenix check it out people right what else is that it’s a musical instrument
They say, like a guitar invented by the Phoenicians,
but so-called because it’s made from the Delian palm.
Wait a minute.
So-called because it’s made from a Greek palm?
What the?
People, get your…
See, this is why we need people like Aristoxenus to get us going.
I want to make one statement that’s going to shock and surprise people.
It was the language of ancient Greek that gave us the power of the stringed instrument.
i want to say that one more time it was the language of ancient greek that gave us the power
of the stringed instrument these forms of stringed instruments that you see emerging
in the mediterranean right you see them accompany the surge of the poetry that is deathy ram
that is the purification of society through the stage
and the possession of the God, Christ himself.
Okay, give me the next one.
My God, man, right?
We haven’t seen Bacchic worship.
We haven’t seen Christian worship.
We haven’t seen Jewish worship either.
Judean, to be most precise.
What is a pectus, a stringed instrument?
Who is this one used by?
It’s used by the Lydians, but I want you to notice
he quotes Sappho, along with others, right? But Sappho, and why is that said to have been
introduced from Lydia by Sappho? And that’s our lyre, that’s our guitar, right? How wonderful,
wonderful. And who, okay, so wait a minute, who, by this time, who do we know? As Aristoxenus is
writing. We have a whole list of famous guitarists, but you may not have known that Sappho
was at the top of that list. You didn’t know that, did you? No, you didn’t. You didn’t. And you
didn’t know Sappho with all her Amazonian influences, cultural, Amazonian cultural
influences. Why do you think she had a college of women? You say there was a college of women
in antiquity yeah it was in jerusalem no it wasn’t yeah it was over in persepolis
no it wasn’t there either i’m just kidding samaria no was it in maybe the canaanites got there
what about the hittites they taught you can search all you want but if you want to see the
historical woman teaching woman in a college and she is the mistress of the guitar
and the song. They call to the 10th muse. This is at a time when backwater is backwater.
What is backwater? It’s those places that don’t speak Greek. Think about this for a minute,
people. Backwater, no libraries, no literature, no education, no Sappho, no Greek. You’ve believed
the lie i set you free give it to me give me the next one what’s this this one oh here’s the
liar i just wanted to see the liar ride oh god what is that uh since the judge was accompanied
by the float ride tone a nail brush train on what is the train on it’s another one of these
musical operations do we have morning in the rights of bacchus damn straight give it to me
Next one. Now, let’s make with the Greek. Are you ready? Here’s one of those words that only
appears in Nonas. He likes to create this kind of stuff, right? He’s a very good, if you take all
of these ancient authors and you just look at the number of hop, hocks, legomena that they have,
words that appear once only in them, and you compare them, some authors have a whole scat,
some of them have just a few, right? You can see their level of progression. You can see their
level of intellectual brutality, intellectual brutality by the complexity of the words that
they’re pulling out of the air and using on people. What is this one? Klepsinos. What is a
klepsinos. Well, nos is a mind, and kleps, a kleps, is a thief, right? It comes from klepto.
Klepsinos is some kind of thieving of your mind. Now, think about this. Nihilus had to sit around
and figure this thing out, right? He’s writing his work. He’s trying to describe something. He’s
I’m trying to describe a state where the mind has been perplexed.
It’s been intentionally fooled.
It’s been beguiled.
Klepsinos.
Okay, so remember that.
Next time you have it.
You don’t have an English term.
But okay, give me the next one.
Here’s another one.
Now look, people just keep building.
Okay, if I know that’s how these roots work, how about I use the kleps again.
And what’s the iota doing there?
It’s just a buffer, right?
You can’t go between a psg, psg, right?
So they put a vowel there, klepsigamos, klepsigamos, it’s that hidden, gamos, and what is that
gamos?
You know, the thing, the act that makes gametes, right?
Seeking illicit love.
Look who’s making it up again.
Do you see what he’s doing?
He likes to use these roots, right?
He likes to use the whole concept. Well, there happens to be the name of an instrument that’s
doing the same thing. Some guitarist came along and said, oh, God, I need a term for this. Boom!
He created, can you imagine that? Creating a guitar that’s not a guitar and naming it, right?
You’re creating a stringed instrument. Have you ever created a stringed instrument and named it?
No, number one, you couldn’t name it.
Number two, you know, why would you create it?
Just like words.
We don’t create new words in English,
nor do you in any other frigging modern language.
You don’t create novelty on a daily basis,
as per our conversations.
I don’t see anybody pulling out words, right?
This is all that, don’t you see?
It’s the language.
The real value of the human spirit is in the language.
Free up, right?
You see what I mean?
Free up.
Give me that.
So what is the klepsynumphos?
You can do it.
And lycophron does it here, right?
And what do the translators here do, these Victorian translators?
They say klepsynumphos.
By the way, you see the word nymph there?
And so you’ve got this hidden nymph, right?
This hidden nymph thing.
is it when you nymph right that nymph is the one who’s about to engage in the union that is
marriage right and here you’re doing it secretly clepsinum force and that’s in lycophron and where
would you have an occasion to use this word oh i don’t know let’s use it of a priestess
let’s use it of a priestess in lycophron this is where the next passage should be this is where the
next part you can come back to that one if you want this is where people this is the english i
just was lazy and pulled up the english um this is lycophron absolutely gorgeous difficult greek
very culty right this is his this is his alexandra right absolutely gorgeous right let’s just read
this together this is written by a priestess buddy one at the bath while he seeks for the difficult
exits of the mesh round about his neck entangled in a net shall search with blind hands wait what’s
going on she is prophesying this is that prophet test the performer between 10 and 20 that second
decade when they switch from the training to the performance this is her and she’s been taken
captive by this stupid Greek, right? And what’d she say? With blind hands, the fringe stitching,
and diving under the hot covering of the bath, he shall sprinkle with his brains.
Tripod and basin. You’re going to sprinkle the tripod with your brains. Why? Your wife,
you dumbass. Don’t you remember who she is? She’s the drakina. What does that mean in ancient Greek?
The dragon priestess.
Oh, God, if that doesn’t turn everybody on, right?
For the women who want to be here and men who want to stare at her and wonder, right?
What’s she doing?
She’s killing her husband here.
You mean we haven’t, this is, remember, people, we haven’t left the late Bronze Age.
Odysseus is going around kidnapped by a woman like this, right?
She’s holding him hostage as a sex slave, right?
Which I suppose is, you know, there could be worse fates.
I understand.
But at the same time, right?
Poor Odysseus.
All he does is spend his time on the beach crying.
That’s why you can’t, whoever does this odyssey,
there are too many scenes of Odysseus crying on a beach
while being held captive as a sex slave.
Calypso and Cersei are doing the same thing to him.
If they don’t have that odyssey, they’re stupid punks.
Stupid punks.
They better have some drugs too.
But you know, here’s the problem.
You’ve got to ask yourself, how much do people sell versus how much do you want to get the accurate history?
I want to say one thing while I’m on a toot.
I want to say one thing.
Somebody just did a video talking about the interview with Danny.
And Bob, right?
it’s Metatron. That’s his name, whatever, YouTube name. And I thought it was hilarious
that he assumed that Danny slapped down $5,000 for Bob and for me. No, no, no. You see,
the discussion debate was set up when Bob stepped out and said, I’m not going to do it if it has
anything to do with that dude. Amen. This is like a week before, right? I’m already scheduled to go
there and everything. I’m excited. Finally going to get a chance. Woo! Fantastic. Nope, he’s not
going to do it now. What could possibly move this human being to do this? Yeah. Offer him five grand.
what an idea wasn’t mine offer him five grand and it worked it worked it worked do you see
why we hail satan because we know we’re here to punish you we know your greed and your greed
stains your soul with a stench of ruin listen mr metatron the five grand yeah you know who that
was for i was for the devil’s little puke the devil’s puke right it’s a test people it’s a test
that’s why we at lady babylon don’t take money that’s why we don’t have chats right that have
money values um oh look oh look who is that more okay who valerie here’s valerie hey lady babylon
forever thank you valerie i say the same thing hey lady babylon forever um now i’m not asking
for any money am i no i’m not going to play the game do you know what that does with everything
that i say it makes it legitimate because when you hear other people on youtube do you know
what they’re offering you something for sale something for sale and you know what that does
to your words wow you know what what did you do that was a fosking them i just stuck it in your
mouth, a fosculum, oh, gag, oh, oh. That’s what the cash does. There’s purity. There’s a purity
in the music that you cannot sell. I warned you, promised you the madness. Your greed has stained
your souls with a stench of ruin. People see that. People see that. Yeah, it’s important.
it’s important fantastic let’s go um back to this right now tell me what happens here and i
beside the bath shall lie on the ground this is the priestess shattered by the calyptic sword
for she shall cleave me this is a woman being attacked by another woman who is wielding a sword
who just killed her husband, okay?
For all of you who quiver at the thought of the matriarchy,
you do so rightly.
The priestess is being sacrificed by the dragon queen.
And this is playing out on a stage via a song.
And that song includes dances.
You take all the elements and unify them.
Do you know what they were doing with their hands?
Do you know what they were gesturing?
like do you know what else they were using to gesture would you be surprised if i told you
they were using their body parts to gesture give me the next one give me the next one oh god
chewy the art is fantastic you can go yeah you can go um back to any of these pictures you want
there’s okay so uh and i beside the bath shall lie on the ground shattered for she shall cleave
me broad tendon and back even as a woodcutter workman on the mountains cleaves trunk of pine
or stem of oak and sand viper as she is will rend all my cold body and blood and set her foot on my
neck and glut her laden soul of bitter bile the bile is a toxin i talk taking relentless vengeance
on me and evil jealousy, as if I were a stolen bride and not a spear won prize. You see that
stolen bride? That’s where Lycophron, who’s a long time before Nonas, who’s writing probably
fifth, sixth, somewhere in that range. Lycophron is a good 700 years earlier, right? It’s coming
out but they’re both using the same language to create words to identify and why is that important
people i should have told you we’re done with that we’ll go to the next why is that important
that you have a language that is creating words because that language is working with you
to bring what you are using up here to make of everything around you it doesn’t matter if you’re
an artist that’s the peak right that’s the peak that’s when the muse gets involved and that
machinery turns on right you say i’m not an artist well yeah maybe right look at the nature of things
people look at the nature and how it’s working okay what is the skinned up sauce it is a four
string musical instrument thank you i just want you guys to see there’s all sorts of these guitars
right? All these different kinds of guitars. Give me the next one. Boom. Oh, yeah. Hello,
Bacchus. Love that picture, Chewy. Right? I just want you to know, look at the word
kitharisteria. That kitharist art is becoming defined along with its instruments at a time
when Romans are sitting around in huts, okay, at a time when there is no medical literature
except for this crap, except for this crap from the Egyptians. Oh, my God, have you seen the
Ebers? Oh, God, papyrus. It’s terrible. If you set Galen next to the Ebers papyrus, it’s like a joke.
It’s like a third grader with somebody who’s PhD in quantum mechanics or something, you know what
mean? It’s crazy. I want you just to realize that the language itself is feeling, and it’s creating
an environment that it can work in, and this comes through. These sources that we have are revealing
to us that language history that we ignore to our own peril, to our own peril. Give me the next one.
And we believe stuff like, yes, the Torah, the Old Testament is Hebrew originally, right?
And we believe, miraculously, that somehow you can take 1.5 million unique word forms
and squeeze them down into 7,000.
That’s why you get the earth without form and void.
Instead of the gorgeous Greek.
an impossibility you people believe in fairy tales and everybody says oh
almond’s the only one who says this well we must have the um do you know they’ll come along in a
thousand years and say your greatest minds were full of shite that’s the nature of discovery
and life people and civilization and civilization keeps that ball moving forward moving forward
Thank you to Danny for letting us have these conversations so the ball can be moved forward.
What is this?
This is a work on etymology, right, by some Byzantine freaks.
And it says psikines.
What is a psikines?
It’s going to define it for you.
It’s a saturike orgesis.
Do you see the word for satyr?
Saturike, right?
Satirical, right?
That’s an adjectival form.
Don’t you love it?
So a satyr’s dance, or chesis, is the psychoness.
And what does he go on to say?
Imelea tragice cordax comice.
All right?
The dance of the imelea accompanies the tragedy.
The cordax accompanies the comedy.
This is, it continues to say,
This is what Aristoxenus says in his first book on the tragic chorus, right?
Okay.
What’s going on, people?
There is a movement that is associated with the music, that is associated with a compound drug, that is associated with a rite.
And that rite is the mystery being performed, the actuation of the mystery.
Give me the next source.
Yeah.
What is this?
Right? Here we are. Have we gotten to the dirty dancing? People, there’s going to be some dirty dancing. If you are with Lady Babylon and you’re watching and you’ve been here for a couple of years, it doesn’t matter. The naked dancing doesn’t bother you, right? It doesn’t.
But for some people, the concept of the dancing naked chorus that is all moving rhythmically, set, thanking as a group, do you understand?
You haven’t done this as a human, have you?
It’s really sad.
It’s really sad.
You have not been ever able to enter into the theosos.
What is the theosos of the mystery?
It is that group, that group of meanad women who think as one.
Have you ever been in a cult where you make movements as one?
Where your group will hunt, seek, take down a dude, drug him, take advantage of him, do what you want with him.
If you want to, eat him, suck his blood.
Oh, God.
Do you know how the group is and how the group thinks?
Remember, we’re all carrying these poisonous vipers, right?
We’re dragon queens, man.
We got no place for the weak.
And that’s why Agamemnon, the chief of the Greek dudes, ends up dead,
along with his little secret lover, who was actually just a captive,
because they’re all lacedi.
Do you understand?
All right?
right it’s not like he didn’t have it coming it’s not like and you know um you know that the
prophetess as she watched agamemnon die you know she was like you deserve it bro you absolutely
totally freaking deserve it there’s got to be some admiration for that woman who is willing to take
it to the level of nemesis right has to be some admiration or here you know you’re gonna make a
mistake and you’re going to end up like odysseus on a beach crying somewhere and she’s going to be
like get in here big boy you’re going to be like oh no she put something in my food again right
give me the next one boom right do you see the places you can go as a human that you can’t go
under the reign of monisms like judaism christianity and islam do you see what they
purposefully intentionally repress and that’s why you throw acid into the face of a beautiful young
girl you see what your religions have brought you what is the dancer what is the dancer people i
want you to look at the end of the line this is especially a panto mimic dancer right what does
the greek say it says what are these dancers doing they’re mimicking copying this rhythmic
movement when you are in the group and you are under the influence and you are put into a position
where the god possesses the way that we think is communal as one now some of you are going to say
wait a minute that’s christianity welcome welcome it’s nice to have you i want you to notice that
their dances also include dancing with shields this is a big part of the culture shields right
give it the next one you didn’t realize that this was militaristic right um why do you think those
mean ads were taking down people and we’re talking essentially those amazonian women
black sappho that culture is pushing this dance show me some of the people show it give me the
next one show here oh god it’s taking don’t you love it now you can understand the horns right
do you understand the horns do you know the horns of dionysus and why he is horned oh do you really
What does Medea do?
She quenches that bull’s desire.
She quenches that bull’s desire.
Fantastic.
What is that orgesis?
It’s the dance, the pantomimic dance.
That’s the same one.
Notice it’s the title of a work by Lucian.
That’s nice.
So these are not unknown concepts, right?
And I want you to see a couple of Lucian statements on dance.
As to the rites of Dionysus, you know without my telling you that they consisted in dancing from beginning to end.
Of the three main types of dance, the Kordox, the Sechinus, and the Amalia, each was the invention and bore the name of one of the satyrs, Dionysus’ followers.
all right these are these kitharists these are the instrument bearing cultists who assisted by
this art and accompanied by these revelers the conquered tyrrhenians indians and lydians
dancing those warlike tribes into submission you thought i was just talking about dance
like when you go to a you know do your disco thing no i’m talking about conquering i’m talking about
conquering you see these women mean ads had much more in mind than the limited world of
entertainment and money that your greed has impressed on you in the next one yeah you’re
learning you’re learning classical culture the first time i still want to take this the people
of ukraine that’s what i want to do right do you see how they would receive it do you see how it’s
prepped okay couple more covers taking a while all right take a look we got a car i got a couple
more slides here for you i want you to see it i want to jump through some of these just to give
you a glimpse of a world that you don’t normally have a world that is far too sexy it’s far too
sexy for modernity am i dead yeah sorry people the chewy said the ship’s no longer responding
we’re in free fall so ah you know we’ll just sit here until ah voila what is that in the lace right
in my lace notice that they have in parentheses melos which is the greek word for song right
in tune or harmonious in tune or harmonious you can use this of people the amalek are the people
who are orderly look how they put wit underneath that somebody who’s witty is humorless well
proportioned that’s where we get harmony people is from proportion and every guitarist out there
just you know said you know you’re an idiot um and that’s of course that’s programmed into the
fabric of everything all the quantum reality that we’ve been dealing with okay i get it but
i’m discovering it so you know it’s it’s it’s big and new to me give it to me here’s another uh no
oh here’s the what is the emilia then what is the emilia you take the abstract noun right well it’s
harmony in music right or modulation like proper modulation of spoken words and then
notice he tells you generally it’s harmony or gracefulness. Notice that we can’t even define.
We had to throw 15 words at that to try to understand why we don’t have a word for this.
Just give me a one-to-one in English on this. Uh-huh. No, you’re not going to be able to find
it. It’s a tragic dance. So you see people daring the possession. The God causes the dance. The God
brings you the Emilia. This is the Bacchic secret of the mystery. This is the foundation of
everything that is Judaism and Christianity. There would be no Judaism or Christianity
without a telestarian in which the logos, in which the words of God could be accessed.
turns your face gray turns your face gray oh are you getting to the choruses okay chewy wants to
chewy wants to get to the choruses give it to me next one okay people now right this is the we got
to be mature about this i think this is going to be the next one i think that we’re getting close
right what is the chord ox people the chord ox is a dance performed during the comedy right
right and what is it uh what characterizes it right look at the second line it’s regarded as
indecent indecent and um who is being worshipped under the cordox well we know there’s an
association with artemis directly you say wait a minute that kind of threw me i was thinking maybe
it was no artemis think of the black sea and everything that we have associated with
yohira the poison pouring artemis all right think of her give the next one
this is just go back i don’t know why i brought this in at this point it was out of place
next one here’s athenaeus listen to this but the gym no pedics that doesn’t sound good right
Pied? Gymnopiedica? What the hell? What kind of art is Gymnopiedica? I’m getting suspicious
because gomnos means naked. And then we got the word for pied, for kid in there. This is the naked
kid. It resembles the dance, which by the ancients used to be called, wait, what did it used to be
called? Anapale. Okay. For all the boys danced naked, performing some kind of movement in regular
time and with gestures of the hand like those used by wrestlers so that the dancers exhibit
a sort of spectacle akin to the palaestra and to the pancratium do you know what the pancratium is
that’s that’s the octagon in antiquity the octagon is part of education it’s not an octagon but
it’s gymnasium right and this fighting and submission is a part of the gymnasium
okay okay moving their feet in regular time and these gestures of the hand and the different
modes of dancing it are called that and look we have a whole bunch of right oscophoricus
and the bachic and this kind of dance too has some reference to dionysus right but but aristoxenus
here’s our musician again says that the ancients after they had exercised themselves turned to the
pyrrhic dance before the entertainer. What are we doing? We’re going from the exercises of naked
boys that are fighting, wrestling, dancing in a way that is militaristic, and somehow this is
going to lead us to the pyrrhic and ultimately to the tragic stage where we can be purified
through the chorus. You thought it was entertainment because you greedy bastards
have turned it into entertainment. It is religious purification. Your stage has been defiled by your
greed, and that is why you have tyrants. Let me say that one more time. Your stage has been defiled
by your greed and that is why you have tyrants that’s what they said to you in antiquity next
one we’re almost finished people next one right he’s decked out there wait notice the guy in the
back that’s a dude and he’s decked out there like a lady now you think oh that’s a that’s a weird
thing going on there what’d you do there right i want you to know for a fact there are dudes
dancing like women within these performances. They are expressing a femininity that is part
of the worship of the God. Oh, God. Right? Do you see how democracy comes from this place
of cosmos, organization of different elements into one coherent song? That’s cosmos.
and there’s one artist who’s playing us all and that’s the muse love it love it two more now
come on hurry we gotta yeah we got a couple more okay go ahead go ahead the next one next one okay
here’s another dance i think you forget when you advocate the claims of tragedy and comedy
when you yep that each of them has its own peculiar form of dance tragedy it’s in the leah
comedy it’s cordox supplemented occasionally by the seekingness you began by asserting the
superiority of tragedy of comedy and of the periodic performances blah blah blah right
give me the next the religious purification of the athenian society the society that’s built
on the virgin who nurses the serpent. Our democracy is fundamentally musical. The physics
of the music are determining the society. They are creating the reality. So if you were to take
your music away. What fills the vacuum? Tyranny. Tyranny. It’s why music that was bad was punished
because they saw that music had the purpose of freeing the soul from the tyrant. When you remove
the music, you cause the tyrant to enter. Whether that tyrant is a Jesus Christ who is arrested in
public park at 4 a.m with a naked kid mark 14 51 52 or whether it was another dude some kind of
oligarch with a bunch of power and the oracle says oh god you gotta get rid of this guy right
oh god when you take that music out of the fabric of society out of the education out of the science
What happens? What happens? You get a void that becomes filled by greed. Give me the next. Give
me the next. Do you understand? Do you understand? Isn’t it amazing that they taught that music can
lead you to what is beautiful? Just the study and interaction of your brain with music can lead you
to be a good person. Isn’t that weird? We don’t have that idea. We don’t have that idea at all.
No. The music I’ve been listening to is making me a better person. I didn’t listen to a track and
say, well, Jesus, I feel like a better person after listening to that. I’m going to go down
and do X, Y, and Z. Support my democracy. Strengthen my constitution. Honor the generations
that have preceded mine, right? That’s where you can go, but when you take the music out,
what happens? You get Putin and Trump, right? You get Kim, right? You get tyrants. The music
is our only defense against tyranny. Do you know why the Greeks were able to come up with so much?
Do you know why their language is so different from any language you speak today?
because they followed the muse they revered the music and what it could teach them and they allowed
the magic to create freedom fantastic couple of more did we see that i think we saw them yeah
just a couple oh people i just wanted you to see the symphony here i just wanted you to see the
symphony. And I want you to notice that it’s going to even penetrate to the New Testament.
People say New Testament has to be read outside of everything else. No, it doesn’t. That’s why
you can’t read it and don’t understand it, right? And I do want to make, I want to make, no,
you know what? That’s arrogant. I’m not going to, I don’t want to be a jackass. You know what I mean?
I don’t want to be a jackass. Let’s go. People, look at this. Symphony and chorus. What is this?
just wanted to see in the bible this these are not unfamiliar concepts give you the next one
paul takes it to the nth degree right here’s our symphony right our concord our unison of sound
look what they’re talking about harmonia again in the greek the harmony in the song this is called
symphony the harmony within the song is what you and i call symphony two sounds only musical
concord right look at and they start talking music fourth fifth and octave okay for all of you music
people who have been there and understand this stuff thank you for putting up with us dummies
harmonious union uh union of voices that is concert that chorus is a concert of artemis
it is the harmony next last one i think i just want to give one more yeah go ahead
this is paul the apostle and i want to finish here with paul the apostle and i’m just going
going to translate it. I say, oh God, you’ve got to go around in the spirit and not follow the
desires of the socks, the flesh, for the flesh has desires that are contrary to the spirit and the
Spirit is contrary to the flesh, and these things are naturally opposed to one another
so that the things that you want to do, you really don’t.
If you’re led by the Spirit, you won’t be under law.
These are the works of the flesh.
Look at verse 19, the second line.
Idololatria, pharmakeia, sex, sex, dirtiness, more sex and sex, sex fluids.
Asselgeia, your sex fluids.
Cop is a cop of porneia.
Look at line 21, verse 21.
Methi, drunkenness, and komoi, komoi.
Do you see what Paul is trying to do?
take it down. What Paul is trying to do is he’s trying to reverse the mystical tide that Jesus
is pushing himself with his boys. He’s trying to reverse it. He’s trying to control it. Don’t get
me wrong. Paul’s still getting high and going to the third and fourth and fifth heavens. He’s still
talking about God. I don’t know if I was in the flesh or in the spirit. Wait a minute. What? Yeah,
didn’t read those two passages together did you but now that you understand what’s going on with
the cult it makes sense he says i don’t know flash your spirit but i was seeing prophets
and their mysteries are indebted to one lady alone and that lady is harmony and you cannot
find her unless you look in greek she’s the daughter of greek harmony is a greek word
thank you for coming tonight people all of this beauty you will find no other place where the
language of mother greek is not spoken the technology that is facilitating the use of the
strings to create via magic and to purify people and to push mystery that power is coming to us
through mother greek there is no other language that can stand next to her thank you for coming
tonight may the priest of apollo honor hail satan address the blood sacrifice for four pieces
Discharge, it’s on the cycle
Bring the knife, rumpa-pump-pump
With her always, the mystery goddess
Bring the f***ing pain
Magic dress on the Amazonia
Spit and drink, you bend them all over ya
Ulpik hymns to the moon
People swoon from just a little bit of dope
Hail Satan
Sing the muse, tragedy and doom
Purple in your eyes, take a hit, let’s go get stoned
Got crucified just the other day with Jesus
He was trying to buy scorpion venom with the Epstein client list
If he can rattle on every pedophile working for the Vatican
And the Catholic Church, you know he would in a heartbeat
So they murked him
Pray you miss, Abulima
Broth at the mouth, my soul’s sugarcane
