The villain of this Prophet Wars hour is a dead fourth-century writer the show calls the biggest criminal in quantum history: Eusebius. It lays out the setup first, Constantine seizing the monists for political purposes after they had burned down the libraries, and Eusebius arriving as the propaganda minister who wrote the speech to kiss the emperor. His great lie, in this telling, is one phrase repeated to exhaustion, that Greek got its wisdom from Hebrew, a Hebrew literature for which there are no libraries, no histories, and no sources. Ammon Hillman pairs Eusebius with modern apologists and name-drops Jordan Peterson, calling it the same move of rewriting history to prop up a theology.
The text the episode actually reads is the same work where the monist fails against the dragon. Eusebius transmits the Phoenician lore of a figure named Sanghuniaton, and inside it the older, pagan truth keeps surfacing. The first thing most divine is the serpent with the shape of a hawk, the hierax (ἱέραξ), because the hawk is perfection, the standard by which the nature of the serpent is judged. The dragon, ho drakon (ὁ δράκων), is then called the most pneumatic living creature, the one whose nature the old orders made into their temples, divinities, banquets, sacrifices, and rites, all flowing down from a first figure the text calls Taautos, who first began to worship the nature of the dragon and the serpents.
The Greek keeps unraveling the later doctrine. The serpent does not die; it sheds its age and is born new, so the passage on John 3:16 is read as a dissolution and a renewal, not an endless continuing life. The real Greek words are split: aidios (ἀΐδιος) is the timeless, the incorruptible and eternal, while aionios (αἰώνιος) is the aionic, the invisible made visible, and the show insists the gospel promises only the second. Skotos (σκότος) closes the hour, the darkness of death that is also the womb, the place you were before you were born, the place the mystery sends you back through so the light can be brought out of the void.
