Video Description
The title names Medea as the foundress of the Christing rite, and the episode builds that case from her age and her skills. She is described as a thirteen-year-old queen on the edge of marriageable, multilingual enough to address the guards of the Tauric precinct, and able to lead the Argonauts past the fire-breathing bulls and the sleepless dragon to the fleece. She is called the autocrat, justice, all-wise, and the one without a father, and Ammon Hillman points to words like pantokrator (παντοκράτωρ), the all-ruler, as the source of what the Bible translates as Almighty. The claim is stated without hedging: the old Greek rite was designed by a woman around a female power, was copied and corrected by the monisms that followed, and the live, world-spanning life the texts call aionios (αἰώνιος) was buried under the promise of eternal life.
